Accessibility Statement
Everyone is welcome at Anam Aloha. This statement outlines our commitment to accessibility — both online and in the treatment space.
Last updated: May 2026
Accessibility for all
Anam Aloha is committed to ensuring that this website and the practice space are accessible to as many people as possible, regardless of ability, technology, or circumstance. In the Netherlands, the Wet gelijke behandeling op grond van handicap of chronische ziekte (Equal Treatment on the Grounds of Disability or Chronic Illness Act) requires that services are accessible and inclusive. We take this responsibility seriously.
Standards we follow
This website aims to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA. These guidelines are the internationally recognised standard for web accessibility and form the basis of the European Standard EN 301 549, which applies to public-facing websites in the Netherlands.
We have worked to ensure the following:
- Text alternatives: meaningful alt text is provided for all images that convey information.
- Keyboard navigation: all interactive elements — links, buttons, and navigation — can be accessed using a keyboard alone.
- Colour contrast: text and background colours meet WCAG AA contrast ratios for readability.
- Semantic HTML: the site uses proper heading structures, landmarks, and ARIA labels to support screen readers and assistive technologies.
- Responsive design: the website adapts to different screen sizes, devices, and orientations.
- Readable text: content is written in plain, clear language. Font sizes are set to be readable and can be increased using browser settings.
- Reduced motion: animations are minimal and respect the user's system preferences for reduced motion where possible.
What we are still working on
While we strive for full accessibility, some areas may not yet meet every WCAG 2.1 AA criterion. We are aware of the following:
- Some decorative images may have incomplete or missing alt text.
- Third-party booking platforms (such as Treatwell) have their own accessibility standards, which are outside our direct control.
We are continuously working to improve the accessibility of this website. If you encounter a barrier, please let us know.
Physical accessibility
Anam Aloha is a home-based practice in Zoetermeer. We want every visitor to feel welcome and comfortable. If you have specific accessibility needs — mobility, sensory, or otherwise — please contact us before your first visit so we can prepare the space for you and discuss how to make your session as comfortable as possible.
We are happy to make reasonable adjustments (redelijke aanpassingen) to accommodate your needs, in keeping with Dutch equal treatment legislation.
Sessions in English & Dutch
Sessions are conducted in English and Dutch. If you have a language preference or need, please let us know when you book. We want communication to be clear and comfortable for you.
Help us improve
If you experience any difficulty accessing this website or the practice space, or if you have suggestions for how we can improve, please get in touch. Your feedback is valued and will be acted upon.
